The Earth Mother Skinny Scarf

This is my latest crocheted creation The Earth Mother Skinny Scarf. It's super long and skinny and has a really fun bumpy texture in the center, in colors of the sunset. This scarf was really fun to make! I just loaded it to my Etsy shop.

Summer and Joni Mitchell

I figured I would just keep going with the whole 60-70's female musician muses of mine. Joni Mitchell is my absolute all time favorite. If I could only listen to one musician for the rest of my life it would be her. Her music is poetry and the pictures speak for themselves.

On another note, we went to Breck for a friend's bike race and the weather there was unbelievably gorgeous. And there flowers were everywhere, I couldn't stop taking pictures. Besides the warmth and the abundance of flowers, one of my favorite things about summer, is fresh berries. Especially when I get to eat them out of a gorgeous Japanese bowl that my Grandma gave me.

Violet Folklore Again

I just had to post some photographs from Violet Folklore. See what I mean? Such beautiful pictures and amazing clothes. These photos are inspiring me to get out all of my funky clothes and go to town, but it's hard to dress like this here, it's always chilly. Hopefully we'll get outta here soon and I can go crazy with style! Does that floppy felt hat look familiar??? :)
And one of the ladies from Violet Folklore also has a blog called Nourished Mother, which is chock full of stories of her journey as a mother. Check it out!

Violet Folklore, Stevie Nicks

I just discovered this wonderful blog Violet Folklore. I have found my hippy style soul mate!!! The two women behind this awesome store sell vintage clothing on their Etsy site and they blog about their fantastic clothing that they find to sell. Their photographs are beautiful and whimsical. I am so happy to have found them!

And speaking of fashion soul mates, I just have to include some picture of Stevie Nicks. Gorgeous!!!!!

New Hat and Carly Simon

Ever since I saw the cover of my Mom's Carly Simon record No Secrets, I have had the image of Carly Simon's unique fashion style imprinted on me, especially her hat. Then as I got older I saw this image of Sienna Miller in a magazine, in a hat reminiscent of Carly's. And just yesterday I finally found my version of these two hats, in a thrift store that just opened in my town. I couldn't believe it! It's the perfect hat for everything, reading outside, hiking, etc. I have not taken it off since I walked out the thrift store's door.
I am currently reading the book Girls Like us and I found myself falling in love with Carly Simon's style all over again. It's so timeless, you could wear any of the above outfits today and look completely stylish. Those tall boots, that poncho, that floral dress, SO CUTE! Check out the book, which also includes Joni Mitchell and Carole King, it's a good read so far!
And I discovered last night that Carly Simon has her own blog here

Lakes, Poppies and Knits, OH my!!!

We have found a new, gorgeous place to take the dog swimming. It starts with a short and pretty nature trail and ends at this lovely reservoir. There were dragonflies (Damselflies) everywhere at this reservoir. I think they were damselflies because they were really small, and dragonflies are usually larger. They were the brightest blue I've ever laid my eyes on.
The poppies are going crazy here, and they are slowly spreading to the other side of the house, I wish they could last all summer. Oh and that crazy red plant is Kinnikinnick. Isn't it the most lush, deep red color you've ever seen???
And... I have been loading some summer fingerless mittens onto Etsy that I have had made for awhile. I also loaded some new crocheted scarves and headbands. Enjoy your Thursday.

Our Peaceful, GREEN, Hike

It's hard to comprehend just how green it is right now in Colorado. I can't even comprehend it even though I live here, it is NEVER this green. It is spectacular. On our hike today, there were wildflowers everywhere, and streams of runoff almost every step you took. It took us awhile to get to the lake because I couldn't stop taking pictures and Hubby couldn't stop looking in his books to identify all the plants and flowers. Once we got to the lake, Scout jumped right in and started fishing. He actually gets in the water and looks down for fish, all the while his tail wagging constantly, it's hilarious.
What a perfect way to spend a Sunday.
